DUFF MCKAGAN interviewed by Terry David Mulligan
Article by Adriano Cavina
Guns and Roses have not performed together for about five years. Makes you wonder what rock stars (and these guys were major stars) get up to when they’re not in the spotlight. This might bring to mind lavish retreats, awesome yachts and fast cars (even faster women...?). But Duff’s past few seem to have been a wee less fun than that. This guy has had his pancreas ‘BLOW UP’. Geez! That was his reward for getting hooked on Heroin. In fact, he had pretty much given up reaching age 30.

He’s cleaned up his act now. A real awakening for Duff was realizing that his rock idols (he mentioned Iggy Pop) are actually drug free, and that his friends that were using are either clean or dead (which would you prefer - there may be no compromise). Now, for the first time since Use Your Illusion, Guns have been able to start discussing new material.

This clip contains some pretty insightful stuff: Audience Q&A’s; Duff’s opinion on the Seattle scene; The Punk (does Punk get a capital P?) explosion; And what it’s like when Axl walks off stage.
