Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan Clinic / Interview
Author Unknown
A bass and drum jam of G’n R tunes, consisting of a medley of "Paradise City", "It’s So Easy", "You Could Be Mine", "Mr. Brownstone" and "Welcome to the Jungle".

Discussion and Question period:

Talk of a new project , Neurotic Outsiders, featuring, Matt, Duff, Steve Jones, and John Taylor. The CD is now released and out, and they are touring club venues.

Matt Sorum says his influences in jazz were Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa. Fusion jazz influences include Lenny White, Billy Cobham, Tony Williams.

Duff is heavily influenced by the early Punk Rock scene, and still is. He started out playing drums, guitar, then bass, then pounded the L.A. scene from 1985 onward.

The Cult was a personal fav to Matt, he enjoyed the music and kick ass tunes. Guns and Roses and the Cult toured together and after the Cults final gig, G’n R asked Ian Astbury if they’d mind Letting Matt audition for Guns, it wasn’t a problem and Matt got the gig instantly. Guns and Roses is still going but it’s vague as to what’s happening as Matt and Duff avoided answering those questions.

As the final jam happened, Dave "Snake" Sabo of Skid Row joined , ripped out some free style jamming of some funky, heavy rocking, hard driving tunes. They closed the show with a number of Rock & Roll by Led Zeppelin, and invited an unknown female guest singer from the audience.

Overview - This was a fun clinic, very explosive with hard wailing chops by Matt on the drums, great tight in the pocket bass playing by Duff, and some real tasty hard driving guitar playing by special guest Dave Sabo (of Skid Row). A real good time had by all who were there.
